Football Game Preview: Morgantown Mohigans vs. Buckhannon-Upshur Buccaneers + How To Watch

The Morgantown Mohigans will square off against the Buckhannon-Upshur Buccaneers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Buckhannon-Upshur took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Morgantown, who comes in off a win.

Buckhannon-Upshur will be up against a hot Morgantown squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. The Mohigans breezed past Musselman to the tune of 45-0 on Friday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Maddox Twigg was a one-man wrecking crew as he threw for 260 yards and three touchdowns on only 17 passes, and also rushed for 64 yards and one TD on only eight carries. Those 260 passing yards gave him a new career-high. Keltin Blunt was Twigg's top target, picking up 23 receiving yards.

Morgantown's run defense was locked in: Musselman could only muster 1.9 yards per carry. The Mohigans didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged seven.

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Buckhannon-Upshur's offense. They had to suffer through a 34-0 loss at the hands of Robert C. Byrd. Having soared to a lofty 60 points in the game before, the Buccaneers' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Buckhannon-Upshur's loss dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Morgantown, their win bumped their record up to 9-1.

Everything came up roses for Morgantown against Buckhannon-Upshur in their previous meeting back in September of 2024, as the team secured a 49-6 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Mohigans since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
