Basketball Recap: Edinburg Piles Up the Points Against Edinburg North

Edinburg's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They blew past the Edinburg North Cougars 66-30. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Bobcats considering their 21-point performance the match before.

Arianee Salazar had a dynamite game for Edinburg, shooting 4-for-6 from long range and almost dropping a double-double on 20 points and nine steals. The dominant performance gave Salazar a new career-high in steals. Another player making a difference was Braelynn De La Garza, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 15 boards.

Edinburg was working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Edinburg North only racked up four assists.

Edinburg North's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Yaneth Salinas, who posted 12 points and five rebounds. Salinas continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Josselyn Quintanilla, who scored eight points and ten boards.

Edinburg's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 21-14. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.3 points per game. As for Edinburg North, their loss dropped their record down to 14-21.

As of now, neither Edinburg nor Edinburg North have any future games scheduled.
