Softball Game Preview: Jennings Bulldogs vs. Eunice Bobcats

The Jennings Bulldogs will square off against the Eunice Bobcats at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.

On Thursday, Jennings didn't have quite enough to beat Acadiana and fell 2-1. The Bulldogs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Jenna Morvant spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on seven hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Jennings saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kylie Price, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one run. That triple was Price's first of the season.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Eunice, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 12-6 margin over Leesville on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Bobcats, who have now won 13 matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Eunice's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-6. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.2 runs over those games. As for Jennings, their loss dropped their record down to 12-9.
