Volleyball Recap: Coginchaug Regional Falls Despite Big Games from Jenny Zaclli and Addison Costa

Coginchaug Regional was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They lost 3-0 to the Cromwell Panthers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 last Monday.

While Coginchaug Regional was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the second set. The final score came out to 25-18, 25-23, 25-18.

Coginchaug Regional's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Addison Costa, who had 12 kills, ten digs, five aces, and three blocks, and Jenny Zaclli, who had 13 digs and two aces. Zaclli has been hot recently, having posted two or more aces the last four times she's played.

Coginchaug Regional's loss dropped their record down to 2-12. As for Cromwell, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season.

Coginchaug Regional has already played their next match (against North Branford), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Cromwell, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-2 defeat against Morgan on the 3rd.
