Recap: O'Farrell Charter Falcons vs. Rock Academy Warriors
This season hasn't been kind to The O'Farrell Charter Falcons, who are still winless after their tenth game. They had to suffer through a rough 47-14 loss at the hands of Rock Academy. O'Farrell Charter was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 23-0.
Despite the loss, O'Farrell Charter saw an underclassman step up: Dakobi Coleman rushed for 191 yards and a touchdown. Coleman was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 53 yards.
Leading Rock Academy to victory were Donald Moore iii and Zayden Campbell. Moore iii rushed for 124 yards and two touchdowns, while Campbell rushed for 178 yards and two touchdowns on only 15 carries. Rock Academy also got help from Billy Bolton who showed off his sure hands for 81 receiving yards.
The team's defense also helped out by holding O'Farrell Charter to a paltry 242 yards. A big part of that defensive dominance came down to Rock Academy's ability to keep the quarterback under pressure: the team laid him out seven times before it was all said and done. Leading the way was Jacob Paulson and his 3.5 sacks.
O'Farrell Charter's loss was their tenth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 0-10. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 5.3 points per game. As for Rock Academy, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 5-4.
O'Farrell Charter does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Rock Academy will look to defend their home field on Friday against Maranatha Christian. Maranatha Christian comes in on a streak of failing to score more than seven points in their last three games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
