Aurora West College Prep Academy gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They had just enough and edged out the Hinkley Thunder 3-2. This was payback for the Spartans, who suffered a 3-0 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Aurora West College Prep Academy took Hinkley into a fifth set where they got it done with a two-point win. The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 22-25, 23-25, 25-15, 17-15.

Jesse Dominguez Parra paced Aurora West College Prep Academy's offense, picking up 12 kills. Dominguez Parra got some help from Erick Uriarte and his 28 assists. Finally, Alexis Rivas kept Aurora West College Prep Academy's defense grounded, leading the team with six blocks.

Aurora West College Prep Academy will head out on the road to challenge Rocky Mountain Prep SMART at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Hinkley, they will challenge Manual at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
