Basketball Recap: Pineville Takes a Loss

Pineville was the 85-31 winner over Plainview when they last played one another back in November of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Pineville Rebels took a 79-64 bruising from the Plainview Hornets on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Rebels can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 283rd, while the Hornets are ranked 60th).

Pineville dropped their record down to 7-22 with the defeat, which was their ninth straight on the road. As for Plainview, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 20 of their last 21 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 26-5 record this season.

Pineville wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 62-40 loss against Neville on the 14th. As for Plainview, they will look to defend their home court on February 20th against St. Edmund at 6:00 p.m.
