Softball Recap: Marquette Catholic Comes Up Short

Marquette Catholic came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Carrollton Hawks, falling 13-3. The Explorers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Hawks apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2021.

Kennedy Eveans made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run.

Marquette Catholic has also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-13 record this season. As for Carrollton, the win keeps they at an undefeated 26-0.

Coming up, Marquette Catholic is taking a road trip to take on Granite City at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Warriors have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.59 runs per game on average), something the Explorers will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Carrollton, they will be playing at home against Carlinville at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
