Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Mae Jemison). They claimed a resounding 82-49 win over the Columbia Eagles. Given the Jaguars' advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 41st, while the Eagles are ranked 191st), the result on Tuesday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Mae Jemison's victory was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 10-4. As for Columbia, they dropped their record down to 4-10 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Mae Jemison will be home for the holidays to greet Austin at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Columbia will take on Oakwood Academy in a holiday battle at at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Oakwood Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past ten contests -- so hopefully Columbia likes a good challenge.
