Volleyball Recap: Bellport Clippers vs. Smithtown East Bulls

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Bellport can now relate to. They lost 3-0 to the Smithtown East Bulls on Saturday. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Bulls this season, with their most recent loss being a 3-1 defeat last Wednesday.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-10, 25-14, 25-14.

Leading Smithtown East to victory were Sadie LaPresti and Lily Sullivan. LaPresti had four digs and two aces, while Sullivan had ten digs and two aces. With that strong performance, LaPresti is now averaging an impressive 12.2 assists per game. Sierra Van Riel also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Bellport's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Smithtown East, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 26-4-5 record this season.
