Soccer Game Preview: Newark vs. Olentangy

The Newark Wildcats will head out on the road to challenge the Olentangy Braves at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Newark is coming into the matchup on a five-game losing streak.

Newark lost 7-1 to Lancaster on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, Newark can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio soccer rankings (they are ranked 485th, while Lancaster are ranked 205th).

Meanwhile, neither Olentangy nor Olentangy Liberty could gain the upper hand on Thursday so the two teams had to settle for a 1-1 draw.

Newark's defeat dropped their record down to 2-13. With that draw, Olentangy's record moves to 9-2-4.

Newark might still be hurting after the 6-1 loss they got from Olentangy in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Wildcats were down 4-0.
