Recap: Craigmont Chiefs vs. Brighton Cardinals
The Craigmont Chiefs's 14-game losing streak dating back to last season came to an end on Friday. They secured a 53-49 W over Brighton. That looming 53-49 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Craigmont yet this season.
Craigmont's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Christopher Taylor, who scored 17 points. Taylor is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Tashun Lewis, who scored 15 points.
Craigmont's victory ended a seven-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 1-11. As for Brighton, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Craigmont will square off against Millington Central at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Millington Central knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matches -- so hopefully Craigmont likes a good challenge. As for Brighton, they will head out on the road to square off against Raleigh-Egypt at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Raleigh-Egypt presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Brighton in Tennessee (Raleigh-Egypt is ranked 88th, while Brighton is ranked 296th).
