Portales is a perfect 3-0 against Albuquerque Academy since October of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. Despite the defeat, Portales saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Slade Segovia picked up 54 receiving yards and one TD, and also rushed for 36 yards.all of that, receiving production came thanks to one massive catch

Meanwhile, Albuquerque Academy was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Friday as they fell 21-17 to Silver. The matchup marked the Chargers' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Albuquerque Academy's loss dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Portales, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-6.
