Flag Football Recap: Willowbrook Picks Up 20th Consecutive Victory

It's playoff time, and Willowbrook had no trouble coming through when it counted. They claimed a resounding 28-0 win over the Naperville Central Redhawks. Considering the Warriors have won 18 matchups by more than 23 points this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Willowbrook didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Marli Smrz, Elizabeth Pettinger, and Mckenzie Edison picked up one apiece. Edison has been hot recently, having also posted two or more receiving touchdowns the last three times she's played.

The victory keeps Willowbrook at an undefeated 20-0. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 3.8 points on average this season. As for Naperville Central, they moved to 16-4 with that loss, which also ended their seven-game winning streak.

Willowbrook wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 44-0 victory against West Aurora on the 14th. Naperville Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
