Basketball Recap: Pisgah's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Friday

It was fun while it lasted, but Pisgah's undefeated season came to an end after 13 games on Friday. They fell 47-38 to the Lake Hornets. The loss put an end to the Dragons' undefeated start to the season.

Pisgah's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Laylah Johnson, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds. Johnson is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last 11 games she's played. Desiree Morris was another key player, putting up 13 points and seven rebounds.

Even though they lost, Pisgah smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 13 offensive boards in four consecutive matches.

Having lost for the first time this season, Pisgah fell to 13-1. As for Lake, they moved to 6-4 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pisgah will head out to square off against Wesson at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lake, it'll be a Battle of the Bugs the Lake Hornets take on the Union Yellowjackets at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
