Baseball Recap: Marion Drops Highest Score of Season Against Elwood

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Marion). They walked away with a 14-9 win over the Elwood Panthers on Wednesday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Giants also won the last time the pair played back in May of 2023.

Taeshawn Inman was incredible, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Brayton Bauer was another key player, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with two runs.

Marion's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-14. As for Elwood, they dropped their record down to 2-16 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight at home.

Coming up, Marion will welcome Oak Hill at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Elwood, they will venture away from home to square off against Eastbrook at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Elwood's pitchers better be ready for this one: Eastbrook has averaged an impressive 7.7 runs per game this season.
