Softball Recap: Nogales Comes Up Short

Nogales was the 5-4 winner over Flowing Wells when they last played one another last Tuesday, but their luck changed this time around. Nogales fell just short of Flowing Wells by a score of 10-9 on Thursday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Camila Insunza made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs while going 2-for-3. Those two hits gave her a new career-high. Emma Vejar was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base.

Nogales dropped their record down to 7-10 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Flowing Wells, their win bumped their record up to 10-11.

Nogales has already played their next matchup, a 19-2 loss against Tucson High Magnet School on the 28th. As for Flowing Wells, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, an 11-6 victory against Vista Grande on the 28th.
