Football Recap: South Columbus Now 3-1 over Last Four Games

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when South Columbus and West Bladen meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Friday. The Stallions walked away with a 34-25 victory over the Knights. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Stallions also won the last time the pair played back in August of 2024.

Despite the defeat, West Bladen saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Devan Haire threw for 88 yards and three touchdowns.

South Columbus is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 32.5 points over those games. As for West Bladen, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7.

Coming up, South Columbus will be playing in front of their home fans against Whiteville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Stallions will need to watch out since the Wolfpack have now posted at least 31 points in their last seven matchups. As for West Bladen, they will head out on the road to take on South Brunswick at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
