Football Recap: Carrizo Springs Comes Up Short

Carrizo Springs lost against Lytle back in September of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Wildcats fell 20-14 to the Pirates.

A big part of Lytle's victory came down to the chemistry between Weston Jackson and his top target Chase Guevara. Jackson threw for 167 yards and a pair of touchdowns while Guevara picked up 132 receiving yards and two scores. Guevara was no stranger to the big play, cutting upfield on a catch that went for 57 yards.

Carrizo Springs' defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Lytle, the win got them back to even at 2-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Carrizo Springs will square off against Crystal City at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Wildcats will need to watch out since the Javelinas have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season. As for Lytle, they will venture away from home to take on Pearsall at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Pirates are facing the Mavericks at the right time seeing as the Mavericks are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
