Recap: Astoria/VIT Rebels vs. Brown County Hornets
If the Astoria/VIT Rebels were feeling good off their 44-23 takedown of the Bushnell-Prairie City Spartans last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Astoria/VIT suffered a tough 66-41 defeat at the hands of Brown County on Thursday. Astoria/VIT has not had much luck with Brown County recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Despite the loss, Astoria/VIT saw an underclassman step up: KATE STAMBAUGH scored 11 points along with five rebounds and two blocks. Another player making a difference was ABBIE STEVENSON, who scored four points along with three steals.
Astoria/VIT has traveled a rocky road recently having lost 14 of their last 16 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-25 record this season. As for Brown County, the win was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 23-4.
