Preview: Trinity Christian Warriors vs. Tucker County Mountain Lions
Trinity Christian and Tucker County are an even 4-4 against one another since January of 2015, but not for long. The Trinity Christian Warriors will look to defend their home court on Monday against the Tucker County Mountain Lions at 7:30 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Trinity Christian comes in on four and Tucker County on seven.
Last Thursday, Trinity Christian didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Notre Dame, but they still walked away with a 54-50 victory. The win was all the more spectacular given Trinity Christian's disadvantage in MaxPreps' West Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 232nd, while Notre Dame is ranked 85th).
Trinity Christian's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Carter Hartsock led the charge by scoring 12 points along with five rebounds and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Lucas Kniska, who scored 16 points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, Tucker County can now show off five landslide victories after their most recent match last Saturday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Cameron 57-28 on the road. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Tucker County has posted since December 6, 2023.
Trinity Christian has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season. As for Tucker County, their win bumped their record up to 8-2.
Everything came up roses for Trinity Christian against Tucker County in their previous meeting back in February of 2020 as the squad secured a 85-41 victory. Does Trinity Christian have another victory up their sleeve, or will Tucker County turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
