Basketball Recap: Augustine Prep Comes Up Short

Augustine Prep was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were two points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 41-39 heartbreaker at the hands of St. Joan Antida/Tenor/Veritas. The Lions were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as St. Joan Antida/Tenor/Veritas apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2024.

Augustine Prep's loss dropped their record down to 5-12. As for St. Joan Antida/Tenor/Veritas, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season.

Augustine Prep will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Wauwatosa West at 7:00 p.m. on February 4th. As for St. Joan Antida/Tenor/Veritas, they will welcome St. Anthony at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
