Basketball Recap: Greencastle Starts off Right with Win over Clay City

Greencastle took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Clay City Eels 70-34. With the Tiger Cubs ahead 37-12 at the half, the contest was all but over already.

Sam Gooch went supernova, going 10-for-13 on his way to 27 points and eight boards. That's the most rebounds he has posted since back in December of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Connor Sullivan, who dropped a double-double with ten points and 11 boards.

Greencastle wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, an 83-61 loss against Northview on the 29th. As for Clay City, they will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against North Knox at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
