Carey had to skate by with only a one-set margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the three-set drubbing they dealt Wynford on Tuesday. The Blue Devils put the hurt on the Royals with a sharp 3-0 victory. The Blue Devils haven't had any issues with the Royals recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.

Carey walked away with the victory (and looked especially good in the third set). The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 25-20, 25-13.

Emily Brodman paced Carey's offense, picking up 12 kills. Brodman got some help from Rylie Stoops and her 20 assists.

Wynford's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Kate McGuire, who had 14 digs, and Madisyn Watkins, who had 14 assists and six digs. Watkins is crushing it when it comes to assists: she's posted at least 12 every time she's taken the court this season.

Carey's win bumped their record up to 15-5. As for Wynford, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 11 of their last 12 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-15 record this season.
