Basketball Recap: Pamela Laney's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Vardaman over Hatley

Vardaman was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat dating back to last season. They received a blow as they fell 68-49 to the Hatley Tigers. The Rams were not able to make up for their loss to the Tigers from their previous meeting back in December of 2023.

Vardaman lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Pamela Laney, who posted six points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Laney is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Haley Parker was another key player, putting up ten points and four steals.

Vardaman's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Hatley, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-1.

Vardaman didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 45-30 victory against Nettleton on the 14th. As for Hatley, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 62-56 loss against Tremont on the 13th.
