Basketball Game Preview: Biggs Wolverines vs. Quincy Trojans

The Biggs Wolverines will take on the Quincy Trojans at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

Quincy will be up against a hot Biggs squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. Biggs took their match on Wednesday with ease, bagging a 74-44 win over Princeton. The Wolverines have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven contests by 20 points or more this season.

Biggs relied on the efforts of Brady Smith, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 12 rebounds, and Skyler Long, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 18 boards. Those 18 boards gave Long a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Hunter Seipert, who posted 13 points.

Biggs smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 31 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in five consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Quincy hadn't done well against Hamilton recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Quincy had just enough and edged Hamilton out 61-59. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Trojans have posted since December 20, 2024.

Biggs is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.1 points per game. As for Quincy, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 11-9.

Biggs didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Quincy when the teams last played on January 14th, but they still walked away with a 58-54 victory. Does Biggs have another victory up their sleeve, or will Quincy turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
