Softball Recap: Amsterdam Takes a Loss

If Amsterdam was feeling good fresh off their 17-2 takedown of Gloversville on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Rams came up short against the Glens Falls Indians on Wednesday, falling 13-4. The Rams haven't had much luck with the Indians recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Trinity Lopez and Leila Brooks stepped up to the plate in a big way. Lopez went 2-for-3 with two doubles and one RBI, while Brooks went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Those hits were Brooks' first of the season.

Amsterdam's loss dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Glens Falls, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-2 record this season.

Amsterdam will host Mayfield at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Glens Falls, they will venture away from home to challenge Scotia-Glenville at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Indians' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Tartans have averaged an impressive 9.6 runs per game this season.
