Basketball Recap: Monroe Township Comes Up Short

Monroe Township and St. Thomas Aquinas squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Monroe Township had to settle for second. They were dealt a 93-34 loss at the hands of the St. Thomas Aquinas Trojans. The Falcons haven't had much luck with the Trojans recently, as the team has come up short the last nine times they've met.

Monroe Township's defeat dropped their record down to 15-8. As for St. Thomas Aquinas, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-4 record this season.

Monroe Township and St. Thomas Aquinas should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps New Jersey Rankings. Monroe Township (ranked 94th) will meet North Brunswick (ranked 202nd) on Thursday. Meanwhile, St. Thomas Aquinas will challenge Camden Catholic on Friday up 53 places (15 vs. 68).
