Football Game Preview: Jesuit Crusaders vs. West Linn Lions + How To Watch

The Jesuit Crusaders will square off against the West Linn Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Jesuit comes in on seven and West Linn on 15.

Jesuit is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. In a tight contest that could have gone either way, they made off with a 34-33 win over Tualatin. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Crusaders have posted since November 15, 2024.

Luke Ortner was his usual excellent self, rushing for 289 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.4 yards per carry. He has been hot, having posted two or more rushing touchdowns the last five times he's played.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Jesuit was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 325 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 156 rushing yards in seven consecutive matchups.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask West Linn). They blew past Roosevelt 56-7 on Friday. Given the Lions' advantage in MaxPreps' Oregon football rankings (they are ranked first, while the Roughriders are ranked 66th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

West Linn's win came from a few key players Jesuit will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Sloan Baker, who threw for 232 yards and four TDs while picking up 10.5 yards per attempt. Viggo Anderson helped Baker out on the ground, rushing for 111 yards and one score on only six carries.

West Linn's win bumped their record up to 10-0. As for Jesuit, their victory bumped their record up to 8-2.

Jesuit was taken down by West Linn 59-14 in their previous matchup back in November of 2023. Can the Crusaders avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
