Pike County falls despite strong effort from Yadiel Rosado

The Pike County Pirates's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their fifth straight loss. They fell to Lamar County 72-66. Pike County has struggled against Lamar County recently, as their contest on Wednesday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.

When it comes to explaining why Pike County lost, one person who can't be blamed is Yadiel Rosado. Despite the final result, he scored 31 points along with two steals. Rosado's trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight. Nazarious McDowell was another key contributor, scoring 20 points along with two steals.

Pike County has not been sharp recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season. As for Lamar County, their victory bumped their record up to 4-15.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pike County will take on Mary Persons at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Mary Persons is hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses. As for Lamar County, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Furlow Charter School at 7:30 p.m. Furlow Charter School comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
