Newton North faced Brookline in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Tigers won by a set and slipped past the Warriors 3-2. The win was familiar territory for the Tigers, who have now won six contests in a row.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Newton North got the one that really mattered. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 26-28, 25-23, 20-25, 15-13.

Alayna Oconnell was a one-woman wrecking crew as she had 21 digs and seven assists. Those 21 digs gave her a new career-high.
