Baseball Game Preview: Kelloggsville Rockets vs. Lee Rebels

The Kelloggsville Rockets will head out to square off against the Lee Rebels at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with 12 consecutive losses for Kelloggsville and 13 for Lee.

Black River hit Kelloggsville with a four-run sixth inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Rockets came up short against the River Rats, falling 13-6.

Albert Santos German put in work no matter where he played. He tossed 2.1 innings while giving up just one earned run but no hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three stolen bases and one run.

In other batting news, Stiven Guevara Feliz and Domenico Barone stepped up to the plate in a big way. Guevara Feliz went 2-for-4 with two runs and two RBI, while Barone went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Those RBI were Guevara Feliz's first of the season. Collin Hartford was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two doubles and one run.

Meanwhile, Lee lost 17-1 to Zion Christian on Thursday.

Kelloggsville's loss dropped their record down to 2-14. As for Lee, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-15-3.

Everything went Kelloggsville's way against Lee in their previous meeting back in April of 2022, as Kelloggsville made off with a 19-4 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rockets since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
