Volleyball Recap: Isle of Wight Academy Takes a Loss

Isle of Wight Academy lost against Greenbrier Christian Academy back in September of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Chargers took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Gators.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-16, 17-25, 25-21.

Libby Allen paced Isle of Wight Academy's offense, picking up nine kills. Allen got some help from Christina Petruzalek and her 12 assists. Camryn Williams controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Greenbrier Christian Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Vivianne Tucker, who had 21 digs and two aces. The dominant performance also gave Tucker a new career-high in assists (six). Elle Gullickson was another key player, getting five kills and four aces.

Isle of Wight Academy has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-10 record this season. As for Greenbrier Christian Academy, their victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-7-1.

Isle of Wight Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-1 win against Portsmouth Christian on the 6th. As for Greenbrier Christian Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Denbigh Baptist Christian on the 3rd.
