Basketball Recap: St. Cloud Comes Up Short + How To Watch

St. Cloud extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to four on Friday, dropping them down to 0-3. They were outmatched by the Gateway Panthers and fell 93-9. The Bulldogs lost against the Panthers in their previous head to head back in January, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 55-49 score last time.

As for Gateway, they pushed their record up to 3-0 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. The team's perfect season has a lot to do with their offensive performance: the team's won by an average of 49.4 points thus far.

Gateway's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ashlynn Day led the charge by almost dropping a triple-double with 31 points, nine rebounds, and ten steals. Day is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed four or more in each of the last 29 games she's played dating back to last season. Alyssa Marino was another key player, dropping a double-double with 20 points and ten assists.

St. Cloud wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 60-10 defeat against Seminole on the 24th. As for Gateway, they have also already played their next contest, a 44-40 victory against Martin County on the 28th.
