Volleyball Game Preview: Monticello Mustangs vs. Wilson Memorial Green Hornets + How To Watch

The Monticello Mustangs will head out to square off against the Wilson Memorial Green Hornets at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.

Monticello is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Fluvanna County just ended the team's four-match winning streak on Tuesday. They fell 3-1 to the Flying Flucos. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 23-25, 25-11, 25-21.

Despite the loss, Monticello had strong showings from Savannah Skladzien, who had 25 assists and 19 digs, and Nadia Mithqal, who had 16 digs and three assists. Skladzien is on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 12 or more in each of the last 19 games she's played.

Meanwhile, Wilson Memorial made easy work of Stuarts Draft on Thursday and carried off a 3-0 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Green Hornets.

Wilson Memorial's victory bumped their record up to 16-4. As for Monticello, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-10.

Monticello suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Wilson Memorial when the teams last played back in October of 2022. Can the Mustangs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
