Baseball Game Preview: Bellmont Braves vs. Norwell Knights

Bellmont is 0-10 against Norwell since April of 2017 but things could change on Thursday. The Braves will be playing at home against the Knights at 5:30 p.m. Norwell took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Bellmont, who comes in off a win.

While Bellmont's win against Woodlan wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Braves narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Warriors 7-5. The win continues a trend for the Braves in their matchups with the Warriors: they've now won five in a row.

Matt Bleeke spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered four earned (and one unearned) runs on seven hits.

On the hitting side, Layne LeMaster was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. Bellmont is 2-1 when LeMaster posts two or more runs, but 2-5 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Beau Baker, who got on base in two of his four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 14 runs the game before, Norwell was a bit more limited in their game on Tuesday. They fell 6-2 to Leo. The Knights' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Bellmont's victory bumped their record up to 4-6. As for Norwell, their loss dropped their record down to 8-5.
