The Gadsden Panthers will challenge the Capital Jaguars at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Gadsden will be strutting in after a win while Capital will be coming in after a loss.
It was a proper cat-fight when Gadsden took on Deming on Friday. The Panthers were the clear victors by a 27-7 margin over the Wildcats. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by 20 points or more this season.

ETHAN MORALES was a one-man wrecking crew as he threw for 289 yards and four TDs while completing 81.8% of his passes. That's the most passing touchdowns he has posted since back in September. The team also got some help courtesy of MAURO ALMANZA, who picked up 117 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns.
On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Gadsden's defense and their six sacks. The heavy lifting was done by DANTE BARRERAS and SANTIAGO SEGURA, who racked up four sacks between them. SEGURA also made five total tackles, which is notable because Gadsden is 6-1 when he posts at least four total tackles, but 0-3 otherwise.
Meanwhile, Capital came up short against Belen on Thursday and fell 22-14. The Jaguars haven't had much luck with the Eagles recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.
Although Capital took the loss, they still got scores from Jordan Cardenas and Ace Bachicha.
While Capital came up short, they sure didn't make it easy for Belen: they limited their QB to completion percentage of just 40%. The team can thank Alex Sandoval for the heroic effort on defense: he. Capital hasn't an opponent to post a completion percentage of 0.42 or higher in five consecutive matchups.
Capital didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Raymond Salazar, Cardenas, and Sandoval picked up one apiece. Sandoval has been hot, having also posted at least one defended passe the last five times he's played.
The victory made it two in a row for Gadsden and bumps their season record up to 6-4. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 7 points in those games. As for Capital, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-6.
Friday's game might be decided in the trenches. Gadsden has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 225.5 rushing yards per game. It's a different story for Capital, though, as they've been averaging only 90.4 rushing yards. How will they fare against such a dominant running game?
