Football Recap: Crestview Beats Escambia for Their Third Straight Win + How To Watch

Crestview extended their winning streak to three on Friday, bumping them up to 4-3. They took down the Escambia Gators 21-6. This was payback for the Bulldogs, who suffered a 23-20 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Manwell Robinson was a one-man wrecking crew as he rushed for 128 yards and a pair of scores while picking up 7.1 yards per carry. Those 128 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Che'Shon Cobb, who rushed for 75 yards and one touchdown on only nine carries.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Crestview was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 285 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Escambia only rushed for 144.

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Crestview's defense and their three sacks. Jordyn Stoudmire was especially locked on to Escambia's QB and sacked him twice.

As for Escambia, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 3-5 record. Having soared to a lofty 46 points in the game before, they couldn't push the score so high this time.

Despite the loss, Escambia still got an impressive performance from James Simpson, who rushed for 102 yards on only 11 carries, and also picked up 58 receiving yards. That high mark didn't come from nowhere: Simpson posted at least 102 rushing yards in the third games prior.

Crestview has already played their next contest, a 38-6 win against Tate on the 24th. As for Escambia, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 14-8 defeat against Pine Forest on the 24th.
