Recap: St. Joseph Wildcats vs. Atlantic Christian Cougars
The St. Joseph Wildcats posted their closest win yet this season on Saturday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 65-63 win over Atlantic Christian. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Atlantic Christian's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Noah Stokes, who scored 24 points along with eight rebounds. Stokes has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last three times he's played. Judah Dawkins was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with five rebounds and two blocks.
St. Joseph now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Atlantic Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-4.
St. Joseph will head out on the road to face off against Ocean City at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Ocean City sitting on five straight wins and St. Joseph on three. As for Atlantic Christian, they will be playing at home against Pilgrim Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
