Softball Recap: Omaha Central Comes Up Short

Omaha Central extended their losing streak to three on Tuesday, dropping them down to 9-8. They took a 14-10 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Columbus Discoverers. Even if the Eagles couldn't come away with the victory, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their hitters, which had struggled int the games prior.

Nichole Palfini made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and got on base in four of her five plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and one stolen base. That home run was her first of the season. Ada Jantzen was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run.

As for Columbus, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 4-9. The high-scoring effort was just what they needed considering they were shut out in their previous matchup.

On Columbus' side, the team relied heavily on Liberty Bos, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most hits Bos has posted since back in August. The team also got some help courtesy of Olivia Hill, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.

Omaha Central has already played their next game, a 13-0 victory against Burke on the 19th. Columbus has also already played their next contest (against Grand Island), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
