Basketball Preview: Centaurus Warriors vs. Denver South Ravens

The Centaurus Warriors will be playing in front of their home fans against the Denver South Ravens at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Centaurus focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 34 on Saturday.

Centaurus struggled with assists on Saturday (the Tigers had ten more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Centaurus was beaten by the Tigers 67-31. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Centaurus in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now lost six in a row.

Despite the defeat, Centaurus got a solid performance out of Cameron Kidd, who scored ten points along with five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Kidd has scored all season.

Meanwhile, you can't lose the contest if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Denver South's strategy against the Thunderbirds on Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Denver South blew the Thunderbirds out of the water with a 51-5 final score. That looming 51-5 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Denver South yet this season.

Centaurus has traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-13 record this season. As for Denver South, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-8.

Centaurus lost to the Ravens at home by a decisive 57-41 margin in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. Will Centaurus have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more basketball content.
