Basketball Game Preview: Circle Christian Centurions vs. Family Christian Academy Lions

Circle Christian is on a four-game streak of home losses, Family Christian Academy a six-game streak of away losses dating back to last season, but someone's luck will change on Monday. The Circle Christian Centurions will welcome the Family Christian Academy Lions at 7:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Friday, Circle Christian opened the new year with a less-than-successful 58-48 loss to Key West. While losing is never fun, the Centurions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 745th, while the Conchs are ranked 334th).

Meanwhile, Family Christian Academy came up short against Christian Learning Academy back in December of 2024 and fell 61-52.

Circle Christian will need focus on slowing down Ezra Rivera, one of several Family Christian Academy players who made an impact when they last played. He went 5 of 6 on his way to 12 points and eight rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Julian Cabrera, who went 5 of 9 on his way to 17 points and six rebounds.

Circle Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Family Christian Academy, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 1-7.

Circle Christian didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Family Christian Academy in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, but they still walked away with a 60-56 victory.
