Basketball Recap: OnPoint Hoops Comes Up Short + How To Watch

OnPoint Hoops came into this matchup off a tough 28-point defeat last Saturday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Sunrise Christian Academy Buffaloes by a score of 64-61 on Friday. The Panthers lost against the Buffaloes in their previous head to head back in November of 2019, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 76-18 score last time.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Sunrise Christian Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Canaan McElroy, who shot 50% from the field en route to 26 points. McElroy is crushing it when it comes to points: he's scored at least 19 every time he's taken the court this season. Haferny Diaz was another key player, almost dropping a double-double with ten points and nine rebounds.

OnPoint Hoops' loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Sunrise Christian Academy, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 4-1.

Looking ahead, OnPoint Hoops won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Sunrise Christian Academy (EYBL) at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Sunrise Christian Academy, they will challenge Texas Alliance of Christian Athletes Gold at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
