Baseball Recap: Lee County Extends Home Winning Streak to Four

It may have taken ten innings to finish the job, but Lee County ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They skirted past the Triton Hawks 14-13. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Yellow Jackets have posted against the Hawks since April 20, 2018.

Drew Stanfield was incredible, going 4-for-7 with three runs, four RBI, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Josh Hall, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

Stanfield wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Lee County kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Triton only managed nine hits.

Lee County's win was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-0. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 1.5 runs across that stretch. As for Triton, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Lee County has already played their next contest, a 9-8 victory against Alexander Central on the 1st. As for Triton, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 7-5 win against Midway on the 3rd.
