Softball Game Preview: Kerman Lions vs. Dinuba Emperors

The Kerman Lions are headed away from home for the first time to challenge the Dinuba Emperors at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Kerman is leaving town to face Dinuba after disappointing their home crowd in their season opener. Kerman fell just short of Chowchilla by a score of 3-1 on Wednesday. The Lions haven't had much luck with the Tribe recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Kerman saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Roxy Alvarez, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.

Meanwhile, Dinuba was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against Hanford West, falling 13-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Emperors have suffered against the Huskies since March 31, 2015.

Kerman skirted past Dinuba 3-1 when the teams last played back in February of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Kerman since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
