Paraclete has gone 3-0 against Verbum Dei Jesuit recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Paraclete Spirits will host the Verbum Dei Jesuit Eagles at 3:15 p.m. Paraclete's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for eight straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Paraclete fought the good fight in their overtime game against St. Anthony on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Saints by a score of 2-1. That's two games in a row now that the Spirits have lost by just one goal.

Meanwhile, Verbum Dei Jesuit was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They lost 4-1 to Bishop Montgomery. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 1145th, while the Knights are ranked 249th).

Paraclete's defeat dropped their record down to 2-7-2. As for Verbum Dei Jesuit, their loss dropped their record down to 4-17-1.

Paraclete beat Verbum Dei Jesuit by a goal in their previous meeting back in January, winning 1-0. Will Paraclete repeat their success, or does Verbum Dei Jesuit have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
