Baseball Game Preview: Patterson Tigers vs. Tracy Bulldogs

The Patterson Tigers are taking a road trip to face off against the Tracy Bulldogs at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Tuesday, Patterson beat Atwater 4-1. The win continues a trend for the Tigers in their matchups with the Falcons: they've now won five in a row.

Max Medina was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 1-for-3. Another player making a difference was Noah Cozart, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Tracy narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Bear Creek 5-4.

Brady Brown made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Brown was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.

In other batting news, Jacoby Freitas and Malakai Jacobo did most of the damage at the plate: Freitas went 1-for-2 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run, while Jacobo scored two runs while going 1-for-2. Jace Johnson was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Tracy's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Patterson, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

Patterson came up short against Tracy in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, falling 4-1. Can Patterson avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
