Basketball Game Preview: Lakeside Lancers vs. Woodcrest Christian Royals + How To Watch

The Lakeside Lancers will be taking part in a tournament against the Woodcrest Christian Royals at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Lakeside is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Sunny Hills just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Saturday. They were dealt a 74-47 defeat at the hands of Sunny Hills.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Kamal Wimberly-Mason, who posted nine points. He is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last three games he's played. Christian Rodriguez was another key player, putting up seven points and nine rebounds.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Woodcrest Christian, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They enjoyed a cozy 76-57 victory over California Lutheran on Tuesday. The Royals' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Woodcrest Christian's win came from a few key players Lakeside will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Isaac Lytle, who shot 55% from the field to rack up 17 points. What's more, he posted two assists, the most he's had since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Levi Kuehl, who went 6-for-9 en route to 13 points along with eight assists and five boards.

Woodcrest Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive boards in four consecutive games.

Lakeside's loss dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Woodcrest Christian, their win ended a six-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-3.

Lakeside didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Woodcrest Christian in their previous meeting back in April of 2021, but they still walked away with a 69-65 victory. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was the Royals' Ezra Esparza, who dropped a double-double with 32 points and 11 rebounds.
