Recap: Manila Lions vs. Osceola Seminoles
The Manila Lions's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They suffered a tough 40-18 defeat at the hands of Osceola. Manila lost against Osceola in their previous head to head back in November of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 52-0 score last time.
Manila's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performance. Perhaps the best among them was Jacob Baugher, who picked up 63 receiving yards and two touchdowns. The team also got some help courtesy of Matthew Walker, who rushed for 109 yards.
Keenen Jackson was the offensive standout of the game as he threw for 212 yards and three touchdowns, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Tyler Bell also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Manila has been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season. As for Osceola, their win bumped their record up to 4-8.
Manila will head out on the road to face off against Junction City at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Junction City is coming into the match hot, having won their last four games. As for Osceola, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Fouke at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
