Softball Recap: Girard Comes Up Short

The matchup between Girard and Northwestern on Tuesday hardly resembled the 2-0 effort from their previous meeting. The Yellowjackets took a 15-11 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wildcats. The Yellowjackets haven't had much luck with the Wildcats recently, as the team has come up short the last nine times they've met.

Girard's loss dropped their record down to 12-6. As for Northwestern, they pushed their record up to 13-2 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Wildcats beat Girard by a score of 16-4 on Wednesday.
